Sewing Project - Quick Pants

Hei Babes........

Last night Mommy already shared to you my Veritas story, my first sewing machine story. I also did a trial to get used on using my Veritas, so I made a baby pants, an easy one for a newbie like me ;p. It was awkward when I first worked on the sewing machine, still NEED to adjust on the rhythm between the foot dynamo-the needle-and the right gesture on guiding the fabric. Do you know how hard it is just to sew a straight line!?!

Okay, like I did mention on the previous post how I often spent my time browsing on free video Tutorials on Youtube, and yes I subscribed to a lot of craft channels. One of my favorite channel is TheCraftGemini, you can find easy-to-follow video Tutorials of Sewing, Quilting, and Cooking, and yesterday I tried to make a baby pants based on how is taught on the video. So....let me share you the step-by-step pictures....Notes : I'll just give some short captions on each pictures since this is my first project (oh, I'm so embarrassed as the sewing rookie ;p), but I'll be giving you the full video tutorial on how to make it (^^,)......

Choose a baby pants for the template and place it with the long side of the pants on the folded side of the fabric, like in the picture below.

Trace it on the wrong side of your fabric

Don't forget to add 1/2" for seam allowance, cut it, and do another one with the same steps.

Now you'll have two pants patterns.

Unfolded the two patterns, match them together with the right side facing each other on the inside, as in the picture. Pinned and sew both of the Crotch.

Irons to smooth the pants lines. I also found it easier to sew the legs without the need to pin.

Now we can sewing the legs part, then hem the bottom of the feet.

I'm using elastic for the waist.

And.....Voila, my first baby pants!

If you notice I'm using the zig-zag stitch when making this pants. Why...? Because my straight stitch is a big mess! I need to practice on it a lot! Another mistakes I made was the waist. I didn't measure it properly. Remember the baby pants I chose for the template? It's using elastic and on the small size of it. Now, the right thing I should do is to stretch it to get the original measure of the waist.....like in the picture below :

All in all, I'm pretty happy with the result, and of course I have a lot of Notes to be fixed on another projects to come. After all, a perfect Diamond needs a long process to make....got it!?! Now, as I promise before, I'll give you the video of How-To from TheCraftGemini....do check out her channel on Youtube, so informative and so much helpful. Sweet dream Sweet Pies.... :*

Veritas...Never Heard of It

Gosh, baby dolls.....I miss you so much!

My bad for disappeared for almost....how long...2 weeks? 3 weeks? Oh, counting not and lets have fun with Mommy now...'coz I have something to share.....woohooo! (dear Lord, I'm over excited *blush*)

You know is Fasting month now and just a couple more days we, Moslem's, will celebrate Eid. A little catch up from me, I lost 5 fasting days because my monthly period, this year fasting is slipping without I've even noticed it BUT why do I'm feeling I'm moving in slow motion in each single day??? Other things, I got alarmed for my cholesterol so I (must) start on carbo diet...ain't a good thing isn't it :(
Well, this and that are happened in the past weeks, but the most exciting thing is I-have-a-sewing machine....yeaayy!!! I love crocheting, but lately I can't take my eyes off Sewing and Quilting video Tutorials on Youtube! Every single night I've spent my time browsing on Sewing&Quilting free tutorials or free patterns or surveying on sewing machines, etc. Dreaming and hoping someday I could afford a good-beginner-friendly sewing machine and start on my first project with it..........*daydreaming*

Until last week when I told Ibu (my called for my stepmother) that I'm extremely eager to learn to sew and quilt, and she said that she actually owned one...a sewing machine...a portable one...with more than 10 stitches pattern...and it's been unused for almost 10 years......I don't care, I'll take it!!! But I guess I still have to wait for the machine...couple of days to pick it up from the storage lodge (it was dusty and filthy and only God knows the inside condition)...then another more days waiting for our go to Tailor to check the machine only to find him nowhere to reach. Well, I guess that would be my sacrifice to get what I'm passionate the most, and for the best result I'm willing to cool down and wait for the best timing that Allah would give me...........

And that Best timing was happened on last Monday, in such a way Allah SWT directed me through a Repairman who was repairing our water dispenser and told me to check on Pondok Labu for a sewing machine reparation, through Hubby who out of nowhere suddenly that morning take me to check on the Reparation and later on bought me the sewing machine, through my Dad-in-law who got another info of another Reparation at somewhere nearby, through a nice lady who gave that info to my Dad-in-law, and finally to Mr. Sugiono who happened to had another-exactly-the-same sewing machine like mine in his workshop...and it's ready to sew...and the price is just right...and SOLD!

Speechless.....wordless..........Alhamdulillah (^^,).

So, this is my Veritas Famula 5191 (for only 700.000 IDR):

Just some notes for my Angels.....Do Cherish your desire, your passion. Do Dream, big or small, and follow it. Never let some small Delays break you. Alway Pray, always be Grateful....and Believe that Allah SWT will give you what you NEED not what you WANT....and Allah will give it in unpredictable ways ;)

Time of My Life

Hi Dolls.....

Lately, I've been heard a lot talking about Business, Entrepreneurship, and other How-to-Make-Money discussions. I've heard it from my Brother, my Cousins, my In-Laws, and sometimes from myself. How to Earn More Money......Money, has always been an interesting topic to talk or discuss. But if you ask me, I have other interests that I concerned more than just focusing on making more money.

I had a phase where I earned more than enough to entertain myself, shops for my looks, drove a car everywhere I went, had full control of my own bucks, etc. At that moment I was a slim Lady, a Posh Lady, no little creatures, a bed for myself, hang out until late, etc. Living a good life, you must be thinking.....well, I would say so too, except that I had bills to pay, work deadlines, work targets, and no focused life goals....just flat.

Then, I had a phase where I felt all the privileges I used to have were stripped away from me...all of it. My slim figure, my 'Me-Time', control of money, my socializing time, I even no longer had a ride. Was it tough? Hell yeah.....!! A lot of adjustments I should must made, there were some tears too. Lessons learned applied here, along with patience and never-ending support from a beloved husband...I got through it all.

Now, after got through some bumpy roads, minor lost and major lost, and been given a great responsibility upon three little lives.....I would happily say that I'm having the time of my life! Why wouldn't I ?! I have three adorable angels, I married a wonderful man, we live in a house (although we're still renting), we don't get wet or get heat, we have a car (although it's still in installments), my husband is making money from doing what he's passionate so he gets less stress, I now have time to do my long time passions which are crafting and cooking, I can be more focused on my spiritual needs, we are not excessive nor short, everything is....RIGHT! And we are so happy with that :D

So.....no, Sir, being rich is not my priority ;)
